About the Artist
Rick's artistic journey has been shaped by a lifelong appreciation for nature. Growing up in the Midwest and later spending extensive time in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, he found that the natural world offered more than beautiful scenery—it provided perspective, stillness, and a reminder of our connection to something much larger than ourselves. That belief continues to influence every piece he creates.
Beyond the studio, Rick is deeply committed to conservation. His time working on the Ten Sleep Preserve has strengthened his appreciation for healthy landscapes and thriving wildlife. Conservation is not simply a theme in his artwork; it is an important part of his daily life. His experiences restoring habitat, observing wildlife, and caring for the land continually shape both his perspective and his creative process.
For much of the year, Rick lives and works in the mountains of north-central Wyoming, where the changing light, expansive skies, wildlife, and quiet landscapes surrounding the Ten Sleep Preserve provide daily inspiration for his work. These experiences shape every painting, transforming moments in the natural world into contemporary works of art that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the outdoors.
